Gossip Girl fashion: are you more like Blair or Serena?

When fans discuss Gossip Girl, they talk about the fashion almost as much as they dish on the scandal!  Whether Serena and Blair are dressed in designer ready-to-wear or couture off the runway, their ensembles are always high-end and on trend. Each girl’s style reflects her individual personality–Blair’s style is classic Upper East Side chic while Serena’s style is sexy and effortless.

I am not a fashionista.  Far, far from it.  But I do enjoy seeing how others put their ensembles together, and think its fun to watch what the characters on my favorite shows get to watch.  Even the characters who have no financial means are always dressed well- it is kind of fun to see what can be done with a (seemingly) unlimited wardrobe budget for a television show.  It kind of makes me wonder how fashionable I would be, and how receptive I’d be to being more fashionable, were I given a wardrobe hand picked by advisors, and not paid for by me!! I can’t say I would be dressing “sexy” but it might be fun to be trendy- definitely no stilettos for me but then again…oh wait.  No.  Just because someone else is dressing me doesn’t mean they’ve taught me to walk in shoes like that!! 

I do like to think I’d be a bit of a mix of Blair’s classic chic with a bit of the effortless look Serena tends to lean towards.  You know, like the perfect fashion girl?  That might be me.  In another world.  I’m sure I could pull that off driving my minivan around my small town here in Connecticut.  It’d be just like NYC.  Just no sidewalks.  Or trendy fashion boutiques.  But that’s part of the fun of television- watching characters you love (or love to hate) in a world created from someone else’s imagination. 

In real life, if I had the chance, I’d like to have a mix of style pieces inspired by Serena and Blair, but on a more “normal” level, like off the rack and out of the fashion district obtainable.  Maybe I could just strive towards having an up to date look.  The girls on Gossip Girl are always dressed fabulously and look so put together!  Step on the runway of style with the fabulous 4th season of Gossip Girl on DVD http://bit.ly/r4GTe8!
