A little red box arrived on my doorstep last week, and I couldn’t wait for my kids to go to sleep so I could check it out. I have a love of word games- my husband won’t play them with me, because I have played so many times that I “know” what is legal for Scrabble and the like but can’t define all of the words. So he refuses. Thanks to Crossword Cubes, I can play solo…or with someone else!!
Crossword Cubes looks kind of like a yahtzee cup with dice- only the dice have letters with values on them, and there are 13. You roll the cubes and come up with the best score you can using what is rolled! So much fun, and finally a game I can get into (I always did get papercuts from solitaire card games). You can play in crossword or anagram style, so you really can mix this up.
With the holidays coming, this makes a great gift for people who love to play games and to travel- not just because its so versatile but also because its such a small game to toss into a bag and go! My one concern with this game is that I’d prefer a pouch to store the cup and cubes in, because this box will not last forever.
This is also, in my opinion, a good game to play with someone who has memory problems- games like this that keep the mind thinking are so good for memory.
I’m actually going to sneak in a quick game right now, because my house is quiet, and I’m still wound up from work so I can’t go to sleep yet.
