>Bing “Our School Needs” Voting Opens 10/29- please read, and vote!!

>I just found another reason to like Josh Groban, aside from him being, you know, my boyfriend and stuff.  (Wink, wink).  I do love him.  His voice is just amazing. A-ma-zing!!  (I love love love driving to Josh Groban cranked up really really loudly.  Even in  my swaggerwagon- although not when anyone is with me).  



WHY do I love Josh Groban even more today than yesterday?  Josh Groban visited a local middle school in Queens, NY to drop off brand new musical instruments and participate in chorus class as part of the “Our School Needs” campaign kick-off.   That’s pretty cool.  So now I like him even more.  I bet you do, too!! 


What IS Bing’s “Our School Needs”??  


Bing partnered with DonorsChoose.org to give away up to $900,000 to deserving schools nationwide during the voting phase of the Our School Needs contest. Your school could receive some of that donation money—all you need to do is post your entry on the DonorsChoose.org website now *public schools only.

From Friday, Oct. 29 to Nov. 7, the first 30,000 people who vote for Our School Needs finalists will receive a $3 donation code that they can use to donate to their favorite DonorsChoose.org project.
Really, what WE can do now is look at the finalists, and VOTE.  Plus, if we are one of the first 30,000 TO vote, we receive our own money to donate to another project of our choosing on DonorsChoose.org- which is an organization started by a teacher to help public school teachers to fund classroom projects, etc.  Especially with the economy being in such a sad state, WE- meaning, you, and you, and you- and me!! can actually help to make a difference where maybe a difference wasn’t going to be made for whatever reason.  It doesn’t take long and we’re helping teachers, which only helps us as a whole for the long term.  SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…what are you waiting for?  
I know my little town has been impacted by budget cuts, and really, are there any towns anywhere that haven’t felt the impact of budget cuts?  I do what I can to try to keep my kids’ teachers from spending a ton of their own money on supplies that I can get for free or close to it through deals or samples- at least then they don’t have to use their money on that and can focus on other things.  We’re all learning to do more with less, which I truly believe is a good thing, but there are aspects in education which are, in my opinion, not something that should be open to ‘cuts’ and too frequently are- and that’s why I find projects like Bing’s “Our School Needs” and Donorschoice.org to be so great.  Why NOT do something like a few mouse clicks and make a big difference in a teacher- and a class full of students’ – lives?  
I can’t even imagine how this decision can be made.  I’ve watched the videos a few times through each and they all make me want to let THAT video win- for so many reasons.  Glad I’m not the only decision maker or there’d be a big old 15 way tie.  At least with a quarter-million dollars in prize money divided among 4 schools, SOME of them will get some money to get what they need.  Perhaps through MY vote, and some of yours, the rest will get a bit more through Donorschoose.org.  The exciting thing for the video with the most votes?  $100,000 will be heading to that school!!  The other 3 videos with the most votes will each have $50,000 heading to the respective school  

Please, remember: Bing is giving away up to $900,000 to schools in need through DonorsChoose.org, a non-profit website where public school teachers can post classroom projects that need funding.  LET’S ALL be one of the first 30,000 to vote for your favorite finalists each day and receive a $3 donation code to redeem for the classroom project of your choice!
