This review of the brand new Fisher-Price Snug-a-bear cradle swing is brought to you by our friends at Lunchbox. I’m pregnant with baby number 4 and just about 6 short weeks from meeting our new little one. Since my oldest is already 7 1/2 years old, it’s time to replace our original baby swing- and one must-have on my list for a swing was that it be able to plug into the wall. Features:
- Two swinging motions to soothe baby: side-to-side cradle or traditional head-to-toe swing motion
- Six swing speeds, 16 songs, soothing nature sounds
- Two-position recline with 3 adjustable seat positions: right-facing, center, left-facing
- Easy to convert to different positions—just press button and turn
- Machine-washable seat cover with deluxe My Little Snugabear™ body insert and head support
- Motorized mobile with mirrored globe; soft bumblebees fly overhead
- Tethered toy—a perfect first friend for baby
- Legs fold for storage and portability
- Includes AC adapter for battery-free operation
I was thrilled at the chance to try out the Snug-a-bear Cradle Swing! It has a ton of great features, including an AC adapter, so that I can simply plug the swing into the wall without worrying about batteries. Previous swings that I have owned required several large batteries to operate, and believe me, we went through a LOT of batteries. The AC adapter on this swing is such a convenience and money saver. The cord attachment is located at the base of the
swing, so it stays conveniently out of the way. The adorable Snug-a-bear design will also work with any décor or gender. It’s a great option for those mom’s to be who want to prepare their nursery but don’t know the gender of their new baby! The swing is so soft and comfortable, with an entertaining bumblebee mobile and a reflective mirror. It also has the option of swinging side to side, or forward and backward, depending on what your baby prefers. One major improvement I have noticed since last purchasing a baby swing 8 years ago is the soothing music feature. The music is calming
and sweet, and the sound quality is fabulous. I know I will be listening to that music a lot, so I’m glad that it is soothing and relaxing! The swing was so simple to snap together. It only took my husband a matter of minutes to assemble the entire swing. I can’t wait to try this out on my new little one in a few weeks! Be sure to check out the other adorable pieces available in the Fisher Price Snug-a-bear line. All of the pieces are easy to assemble and of great quality. The Deluxe Bouncer is a great all around bouncer, with vibration and music features. The Space Saver High Chair is fabulous! I have always used a standard high chair, but this one fits onto my dining room chair. With a family of 6 this will be a crucial space saver! The Rock n’ Play Sleeper is another fantastic item. It will be great as a secondary crib. The Snug-a-bear Cradle swing and other Snug-a-bear items are now available at Walmart.

Sorry this is so long but this is mine and my son’s story. i would love to win the swing. I am in need if a lot of help at the moment. Here it goes. A lot of people ask me what happen? What made me go into premature labor? But I can’t answer that question because I really do not know. Every time I went to the Doctors everything was always great! We never had anything to worry about. Well I was in cosmetology school and I would have graduated before Cody jr was supposed to be born. We had everything planned out. But that wasn’t Gods plan for Cody jr. I have a history of having cysts on my ovaries .. I also never had menstrual cycles.. it had been over a year since I had one. Cody and I wanted a baby. But I really didn’t think it was possible to for me to have one with all my other problems. Well one night on my way home from work I prayed, and I prayed the entire way home that I would be blessed with a baby. A few months later I had pregnancy symptoms I was SO excited. I went and got tests.. every one said no… so I waited a few more weeks went by and I went to got more tests and spent $50 all of those said no. so the next day I went to the Dr there urine test also said I wasn’t.. So I knew I wasn’t pregnant and I was a little disappointed. So then I went to OBGYN to have a look at my ovaries because I knew that I had another cyst. Well it wasn’t a cyst. I was pregnant with my amazing little boy. That was one of the happiest days of my life! I wanted to go threw everything. I couldn’t wait for the day I got huge! The day I went into labor and right when he came out the Drs handed him to me. I could see it in my eyes! I was so excited.. But that wasn’t Gods plan.
Well when I was 23 weeks I couldn’t feel Cody jr moving.. I got very scared.. . Well my friend said “hey there is an app you can get on your phone, all you need is head phones and you put the speaker on your stomach and you can hear the baby’s heart beat” So I bought the app for $5… Well I didn’t hear his heart beat so I freaked out even more. I called Cody and he told me to meet him at the house and he would take me to the hospital. When we got there the first thing they did and the only thing they did was check out the heart beat.. His heart beat was perfect! The only thing is that I was anemic and they told me to take iron pills. Witch yall know the side affect from iron… I was so happy everything else was fine. But they never did a sono… and I also didn’t notice how big I got real fast.. or that Cody jr had dropped… I went to threw the rest of the week at school. And then Saturday April 16th I was at school I felt horrible.. my stomach had horrible cramps… I felt as if I just needed to lay down.. or that I had to use the restroom… I couldn’t go.. then I finally left school around 2:45 and I went home a layed down. My pain got worse.. I also kept peeing myself.. my dogs were acting very strange.. I then my body just automatically started pushing. Cody got off at 7 and when he got home at 7:30 I was crying in so much pain. He rushed me to the ER and then I was yelling by the time we got there.. When they got me into a room and put me in the bed and told me not to get up. I looked at Cody and told him get the nurse I’m about to use the bathroom.. she said I couldn’t get up and then I started pushing in pain.. she said hold on let me check you out.. right when she checked I remember her face… it got real white and she said “I’m sorry.. there’s nothing I can do..your already dilated to a 10..” she hit the code button and everyone came running.. they were giving me shots and steroids every where it seemed like… then no one was in there but one nurse as the only think I was doing is crying and screaming save my baby. And I was praying…. The nurse walked up to me made sure no one else was in the room hugged me and cried saying I went through this same thing 3 years ago.. my baby is at home sleeping I will pray for you. And she walked away. After I woke up from an emergency C section I was asking to see Cody jr. they tried to wheel him in to see me but I just couldn’t see him in the incubator. Then they wheeled him out and took him to Presbyterian Hospital.
I remember the phone call from the Dr… They said they don’t think he will made it.. he was very sick and very ill.. his blood pressure was extremely high. And they didn’t thing they could give him enough support to live… Cody went to the hospital with Cody jr. my mom stayed with me. I didn’t sleep at all that night. The next morning really early the Dr called again and said. I’m sorry there is nothing more we can do… He is just so sick.. he isn’t going to make it. I looked at my mom and she left the room. She told a nurse that they discharge me or we are leaving that I need to see Cody jr before anything happen…
Right when I walked in to see Cody jr, he was doing ok. His heart rate was fine and he was doing okay. He was completely bruised head to toe… they kept telling us every day that we can end this.. we can end all his hurt and pain.. all we had to do was tell them when. Every time they asked me I felt my heart break I would cry. I got to a point where I told them do not ask me again… my answer is going to stay the same. I want them to try everything possible. I also told them I do not believe in science.. I believe in God. I knew there was a reason for all this! I know Gods got this and he has everything under control.
Cody jr was a micro preemie. I had him when I was only 23weeks and 3days pregnant. I wasn’t even in my 3rd trimester; I had 19 weeks left of my pregnancy. At 23 weeks of pregnancy is when baby’s lungs start to develop. It’s very rare that 23 week premature babies make it. But for the ones that do they have a very high risk for special needs and difficulties down the road. Cody jr weighed 1lb 10oz 13inches long. It really Is like a roller coaster. Also Cody jr wasn’t a day by day baby.. he was a minute by minute baby. One minute he would be great then in a snap of a finger it would all go downhill.
After a couple weeks of being here Cody jr was still so critical. His skin was still bruised he had cuts everywhere.. he was in a hot humidity incubator. I remember just touching Cody jr and pulling my hand out it would be all wet. They couldn’t really touch Cody jr . he had to lay on his back all day because he couldn’t stand any one to touch him. Well one day at shift change his nurse flipped him over on his stomach to do their normal scan there suppose to do. The blanket was stuck.. they blanket was in an infection he got on his back.. yes kind of like bed sores.. How could this had happen? Yes I know.. if you’re doing a culture you put it in an incubator that is humidified and heated… but this is a baby! The infection is called Aspergillus..it took about 1 and a half months to heal.. now he has a huge scare from it. He already has a mild case of scoliosis. He is going to have multiple MULTIPULE surgeries from this… He also could walk a little different.. one of his legs could grow longer than the other.. He already has to go through so much by being a preemie.. and now this.
Cody jr also had brain bleeds. Grade 1 being ok grade 4 being the worse. The left side of Cody jrs brain had a grade 4… the right side had a grade 3.. They also told us from brain bleed Cody jr can be completely brain dead. And that Cody jr may not even know who me or his daddy is. The right side cleared up completely.. the left side you can still see there was a grade 4 brain bleed at one time and there is a spot that does have brain damage. They say he could or could not have any problems from it. The blood can flow over the spot that’s dead and not threw it. Also if he has any disabilities they will never know if it is from the brain bleeds or just his prematurity. Cody jr knows who his mommy and daddy is!
Cody jr had a very large PDA (hole in the heart) they waited and waited for him to get bigger before surgery And wanted the infection on his back to be gone before surgery… finally the infection was gone and he was big enough and stable. We all prayed and prayed he would do great during surgery or that he didn’t need surgery.. well in the middle of surgery they clamped down on the vessel to see what happens when they close it… it wasn’t good.. They tried again.. and again.. and again.. with how much support of oxygen Cody jr would have needed it wouldn’t have been good he wouldn’t have made it the rest of the day.. so they ended up just closing him up and they would look further into it and see what was the problem. The surgeon said he had only seen this happen twice before.. so Cody jr was going to be transferred to medical city to get a cardiologist to do the Surgery. That morning they got everything planned to go to medical city we had an echo but we didn’t get the results back until he already got everything scheduled.. the results came back, his PDA was completely healed!! No one can explain to me how this had happen.. but I know! I do not need any more to explain to me how this had happen! It was an answered prayer that I prayed and prayed for. PTL!
After 2 months Cody jr was not intubated any longer. He went to CPAP then he is on HIFLOW cannula. It was a blessing that Cody jr did not have to be re intubated.
Cody jr has not tried bottle feeding yet. They are going to do surgery for a G-Tube because he already has bad reflux. And if he aspirates while trying to be bottle fed its very bad where they most likely have to have a trache.
I do not leave the hospital unless I go out to eat. Sometimes I have gone out with friends and family but for a very short time. I stay in a parent room at the hospital. I have been home twice in over 2 months Cody jr’s due date is on August 13th well that’s when he was suppose to be born. He is doing very well! Next week on Thursday or Friday they will be transferring Cody jr to medical city to do his surgery on the scar on his back and to also do his G-Tube. I am very worried about this but I know God is in control and Cody jr will be perfectly fine.. but what kind of mother wouldn’t be worried or scared? I am also very nervous because I will not be able to stay the night up at the hospital with Cody jr and I’ll have to be in a hotel.
Cody jr truly is a blessing from God! I never knew it was possible to love someone as much as I love my son. If I look at him and look into his eyes I can’t help but cry. He Is the best gift I have ever received! I wouldn’t have this any other way! I will never take anything for granted because out there somewhere I know there are people who have it way worse than I do. I am blessed with a beautiful baby boy! And he is such a fighter!
Please keep him in yalls prayers threw his surgeries. I pray he will soon be able to come home soon after I’m thinking at least in October he might get to come home.
Thank you everyone for joining this journey with us. And for all your support and prayers!!! God bless you all♥. As you can see, all of this has happened really fast and we haven’t gotten everything we need for when Cody jr comes home. I would love to have the swing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
