A&E is kicking off its new real-life series, Modern Dads, with an interactive road tour this August leading up to the series premiere on August 21st at 10:30/9:30c. They’ve asked me to share about the Modern Dads Tour with you and as a thank you, have invited my family to come enjoy a fun day at one of the tour stops. I think it’s over the top marvelous that there’s a show like this- and just scrolling through the photos on the Modern Dads site I can see I’m going to enjoy watching- the dads look like normal guys, not perfect, but in love with their families. It’ll be pretty neat to see a show that goes into the life of the dad at home for a change!! Who’s watching with me?
Parents and their children are invited to check out the Modern Dads RV for a fun-filled family event. You’ll be able to have your family photo taken for free, check out the ultimate Modern Dads “man cave,” and walk away with Modern Dads swag including sidewalk chalk, bubbles for the kids, and more.

About the Show
MODERN DADS features four stay-at-home dads who may be a little unconventional, but they get the job done. Banding together, their “guys club” is a tribe of suburban, child-rearing dudes who are just trying to do their thing… with a kid (or four) on their hip. This new series will follow their exploits as they navigate their lives; juggling the requirements and social expectations of being both a `modern man’ and ‘modern dad’ while their significant others are off at work.Don’t forget to tune in to the series premiere of MODERN DADS on August 21st at 10:30/9:30c.
Wendy Owen says
I have never heard of this most likely because I do not watch television. My husband is in charge of the remote and he like the macho shoot-em-up shows that I dislike. This does look fairly interesting and worth a look I believe.
Mya Murphy says
I’m totally not into reality shows. In fact, I don’t watch TV, at all. I’m not interested in this.
Thomas Murphy says
Looks like a awesome show!
Eileen Richter says
Yep, must be living under a rock as I had not heard of this one! I’d watch for sure and even though ‘mr moms” have been growing, I am not sure if the real sort of “diminshing of men” for those who stay home with their kids vs work outside the home has stopped. I am thinking this show will pave the way for many more discussions about what truly is best for each family and who might be the best choice to provide daily care for their kids…and not just assuming the SAHM ideal is the best.
Susan Smith says
I’ve never heard of this show, I think it’s great to show Dad’s being home with the children.

I would totally watch this if I still had TV, I’m all about the A&E reality shows and hopefully this won’t be as depressing as some of their other reality shows, LOL. (I have a love/hate relationship with some of their programs because they’re so compelling but so incredibly heartbreaking.)
Tiffany Cruz (Fabulous Mom Blog) says

What a fun show! I’ve never heard of it before, but I’d love to see it. My hubs occasionally makes comments about someday being a stay-at-home dad. He’d be great, but I wonder how long he’d last until he was dying to go back to work. LOL

The concept for this show is pretty interesting. I hope the guys aren’t jerks, as so many “stars” of reality shows seem to be. Thanks for the heads-up about it!
