This healthier homemade ranch dressing recipe is a great way to introduce kids to spices and seasonings as well as using measuring cups and spoons. I also love that it shows them that before it gets bottled and put on store shelves what goes into it and fresh can be so delicious. We make this for our salads or for dipping veggies in- pretty much the only way I can get fresh vegetables in their little tummies. The difference in fresh, homemade dressing and store bought is amazing and may have you in the kitchen once a week or so making your own instead of putting it on your grocery list, be sure to let the kids help- it is so easy and will make for great kitchen memories!
Healthier Homemade Ranch Dressing
Ingredients:
½ cup plain Greek Yogurt
½ cup sour cream
1-2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. parsley
½ tsp. onion powder
½ tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. dill
¼ tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a container with an airtight lid- a mason jar or other glass, well washed bottles work great for this.
Secure lid tightly.
Shake well to combine- make sure there is plenty of room in your container for your mixture to move around in. If you are making this with a cute little helper be sure to wipe down the outside of your jar and let them – ” Shake, Shake, Shake”
Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
