Oh protein, let me count the ways that I love you. You build my muscles big and strong, you keep away hunger pains, you are a big component in my weight loss journey and you do so many good things for the body. Let’s just say that we are a little obsessed with this magical macronutrient.
Many people don’t consume enough protein, some people, too much. Finding the right balance can be a challenge, and finding tasty ways to add protein to your diet is too. This is why I’m so excited to partner with the Vitamin Shoppe to share their new Protein Pantry with you.
The Vitamin Shoppe has introduced the Protein Pantry in nearly 700 stores nationwide, thankfully ours is included! They sent us a box full of samples from brands like Buff Bake, ManCakes, D’s Naturals, P28 Foods, FlapJacked, AboutTime and more. It was like Christmas in October!
Protein powder is a great way to increase your daily protein, but drinking shakes can get really mundane. I believe this is why so many people are looking for new and innovative ways to eat their protein.
Myself included.
I’m a frequent shopper at the Vitamin Shoppe and am so excited to see this new category added to their aisles. The Protein Pantry includes a specially curated assortment of 40 protein-packed foods such as pancake mixes, nut butters, powdered peanut butter and more!
I’ve had an opportunity to try many of the products and these ManCakes are one that has become a big favorite.
If you crave pancakes, like I do, ManCakes are a great option. These come in a variety of flavors and have an impressive protein content of around 20g for 3 pancakes.
To increase the protein a little more, you can even drizzle some P28 White Chocolate Protein Peanut Butter on top. Amazing combination!
Buff Bake.. Buff Bake. Heaven in a jar. I live on this stuff, daily. Buff Bake comes in a variety of flavors, both in almond butter and peanut butter.
I received the Buff Bake White Chocolate Peanut Butter and purchased the chocolate chip and coffee bean flavors at the store.
I’ve experimented with Buff Bake, spreading on toast, celery, and even mixed it into my whey protein shakes. My favorite combinations seem to be the Buff Bake peanut butter flavors. Almond butter has a distinct taste of it’s own and I think it becomes a personal preference.
So, my favorite combination? I used Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Mocha Cappucino for my shake base. While this product isn’t in the Protein Pantry, it is available at Vitamin Shoppe. Mix 2 scoops of powder with 6 fl oz. of milk, ice and 1 serving of Buff Bake Chocolate Chip.
This is chocolate + peanut butter = heaven. Seriously. I’ve already stocked my pantry up with more.
Protein-infused nut butters offer a great combination of protein, fat and carbs that keep you full. While we loved the Buff Bake, there are several other varieties in the Protein Pantry that are just as amazing.
We received the P28 Foods White Chocolate Protein Peanut Butter Spread and it has been really tasty on toast after my workout. I’ve even purchased more in the P28 Caramel Turtle variety.
There are many products left that I need to try and would love to share them with you! Be sure to follow #ProteinPantry on Instagram for delicious pictures, recipes and our thoughts on the rest of the Vitamin Shoppe Protein Pantry Line.
As for now.. I’m about to dive into this FlapJacked Mighty Muffin in Double Chocolate! 20g of protein and it smells divine.
