How to send personal videos from Santa with Portable North Pole
This post about how to send personal videos from Santa is sponsored by our friends at Portable North Pole. Be sure to follow Santa on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest so you won’t miss a moment of merry-ment! (See what I did there)?
Santa’s back- at least, he’s back up and running for the holiday season over at Portable North Pole TODAY! PNP is available for your laptop/desktop and the app store and Google Play. Visit or download the app now!
How to send personal videos from Santa
Step One: Head over to PNP (or open your app). I used Facebook as my login. You’ll want to verify your age as the parent.
Step Two: Choose which video you’d like to create. The top 3 options are free, I chose to send to a kid.
Step Three: Create the personalized components of your video. You’ll enter your child’s name (I used our family name), there’s a place to offer help for pronunciation for Santa (or you can do what I did and choose “my friend” and then upload a photo (it will also grab from your Facebook photos, but I have about eleventy million of those on my account so uploading from my computer was much quicker).
It’ll ask your child’s birthdate (you can leave that blank if you prefer or say don’t know), and info about siblings, do they go to school, etc.
Step Four: Click “create” and wait for the magic to happen!
Step Five: You’ll get an email when your video is ready- you can share via email, Twitter or Facebook free (with the premium passes you can also download the video, etc). Enjoy the response from your recipient!
If you’ve met me, or read the blog a while, you may realize I love Christmas. It’s genetic, as my mom was huge into Christmas. She made it magical every single year, no matter how young or old we were. She’d hear someone at work was to be alone for Christmas, and we’d be setting a place for one more at the table, and finding a few special somethings to wrap so that each and every guest in our home felt the magic of Christmas. That’s what Santa is and always has been to me. Finding room for one more at the table, welcoming friends, family and neighbors near and far, and putting a smile on someone’s face. Santa. Santa’s magical, and I will believe in Santa every day of my life.
I remember one year, I must have been in high school, one of my brother’s friends had a horrific fallout with his family on Christmas Eve morning. My mom went to pick him up with my brother, but not before instructing my dad and I to find a way to make some magic happen as T would be spending the night. Now, we had a gift closet before they were a thing, and dad and I went to the only store in our town and grabbed all kinds of fun snacks and candies for T. Come Christmas morning, T was absolutely overwhelmed that we’d done it.
That’s the magic of Christmas. The spirit of giving. SANTA. It wasn’t much that we did, but I will tell you that not one of us hesitated to jump into action. The holidays can be hard. SO hard- so any little thing we can do to add a smile to someone’s face or brighten their day is a good thing. Remind someone you’re thinking of them. Reach out. Send a card. Pick up the phone. Send a fun video even!

Seems like a better option than fighting the mobs at the mall to see Santa. Though getting a picture with Santa is a wonderful keepsake so this probably is better to compliment that experience rather than skip it. These videos seem like a nice experience to get kids excited about Christmas.
