Butterfinger Chocolate Covered Apples
Ingredients:
6 apples
1-10-12 oz. bag milk chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips
2 Butterfinger candy bars
6 wooden skewers
paper straws.
Directions:
Spread out a large enough sheet of parchment or wax paper to hold your apples.
Crush butterfingers in a zippered bag by tapping them with the back of a spoon or in small food chopper.
Scrub apples under running water then rub them well with a clean, dry cloth to remove all water.
Pierce the center with a skewer, trim the length if needed.
Melt milk chocolate chips in a double boiler or a simpler way is to place them in glass bowl in the microwave for 20 second increments, stirring each time until they are completely melted and smooth- this usually takes about a minute and a half to two minutes depending on your microwaves heat level.
Roll apples around in chocolate, using the skewer as a handle, smooth and even out chocolate with a spatula.
Immediately after coating in chocolate, dip in crushed butterfingers and roll to coat.
Place apples on waxed paper, melt white chocolate the same way as the milk and drizzle it all over the apple.
Allow chocolate to harden on apple then wrap well in plastic wrap.
Slide a paper straw trimmed to fit skewer to give you chocolate covered apple.
