Is your American Girl doll ready for some fun in the sun? If so, you will want to be sure you talk all safety precautions and provide her with some water wings! While American Girl dolls and their accessories tend to be a little pricey, you can make your own water wings in just minutes and for just a buck. Here is how you can get started crafting your own using just a pool noodle and knife! In no time, your American Girl doll will be ready for the pool.
DIY American Girl Water Wings
Supplies needed:
Pool noodle in choice of color
Serrated knife
I recommend serrated because it cuts the foam easily and helps you get even and clean edges.
Directions:
1. Begin by cutting the pool noodle into 2 inch segments. You will need two segments total, one for each arm.
2. Now, create a single slit in the foam with your knife. Do not cut all of the way through the segment, just through half.
3. You can now wrap the pool noodle segments around the arm of your doll.
4. Optional: Decorate the pool noodle with stickers or markers for some extra color and character.
Of course, your American Girl doll should never go in actual water. But should you take her to the pool or beach, she will look ready for the part! Follow this simple DIY and see how easy it can be to make your own DIY American Girl water wings.

It’s a cute idea. I think my niece might make them and put it on her doll, but she would put her doll in a chair so she could watch her swim. I think she would be upset if her doll got wet and it messed up her hair.

This is cute but never would I put that expensive doll in the pool!
