>I’ve written before about how much I love Family Game Nights (here, and here -oh, here, too!) and why I think they are so important to have. Thanks to an unexpected opportunity from the folks at Collective Bias, I was inspired to have a Family Game Night spur of the moment and we had a blast!!
The 2 little ones were already sleeping so it was just Mr. Bargains, Busy, and myself. I’d thought we could play some board games and have some popcorn with a few m&ms sprinkled on top (eliminates need for butter and a little goes a long way!) but they had other ideas. I’d grabbed a brand new pack of Bicycle “standard” playing cards (has anyone else noticed how many different kinds of playing cards are out in the world today?) and they wanted to play cards. We decided to try some Go Fish and ended up playing several rounds. My awesome snack idea got nixed too and I lost out in favor of a trail mix concoction with several family favorites mixed in a bowl. There were still m&ms included, of course.
We had such fun playing games with Busy- she’s really caught on to so much and its so fun watching her mimic her dad’s strategies and “getting” so much of what she’d not understood just a few short months ago. I am sad to say that I was the only one who didn’t win ANY rounds of Go Fish but I’m ok with that. I’m still the reigning champion and we’ll have a rematch this weekend. Maybe I’ll even get my popcorn with m&ms!
