- Focus more on internal beauty and less on the external.
- Share #speakbeautiful to encourage others and yourself
- Leave sticky notes in the house telling your daughters how they are sweet, beautiful, and kind.
- Go easy on yourself, be gentle with you.
- Read stories of women who were beautifully courageous like Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, etc..
- Do things to make you feel more beautiful on the outside like treating yourself to a pedicure, a long hot bath or shower, a fresh new haircut, or shop for a new outfit. Bring your daughter(s) along .

They are lovely just like their mama. I think these are good ideas, it is important to help our children have good self-esteem. It’s also important to teach them to think before they speak and to speak nicely.

I love this and I love that Dove is leading the conversation in this important area! Great idea to have our girls read books with amazing women – we just finished reading one on Amelia Earhart!

Self-esteem and self-image are two things I really worry about as the mom of a young daughter. I want her to feel beautiful – inside and out – without her focusing on it to the point she worries about it. It’s a hard balance! I try to compliment her personality as well as her beauty.
