I love shopping online. I’ve found a new way to love it, even more. I can shop from my iPad, on the couch, without even getting up. I actually DID shop a few weeks ago, from my iPad, during commercials of a movie we were watching. It was like the best of all worlds. I was able to do this with great ease thanks to The Catalogue app from TheFind.com, which I was introduced to at the beginning of this month. I was poking around the Tea Collection items in the app, thinking I might find a cute dress or two for my girls, and was finding all sorts of cute, adorable things I wanted to buy. I was well behaved. I love how I was able to find something – turn the “page” and be able to return where I was- not having to back track.
Ultimately, I found the Tea Collection catalog through the app and discovered that they sell rain boots for kids- something much needed by my son….his rain boots vanished into thin air over the winter and a kid needs boots to jump in puddles! So, I decided to forego the cute dresses and go practical.
He’ll thank me later.
Or not.
But he’ll be happy to stomp in puddles, I can tell you that!
Of course, since I did use this app, it syncs with my Facebook account, so I can access the items I browsed and saved for another time…another day…which means my browsing wasn’t for naught. I actually didn’t realize before I was playing around just how many places sold some of the brands I love so much-including Tea Collection!
The Catalogue app doesn’t just feature the same brands all the time- they do add more regularly and rotate featured brands. If you have the iPad2 or 3, you can also, when shopping home items, use camera view to see how things might look in your living room. Kind of cool!
I find this app to be a great idea. It’s taken me a while to get used to it, and I do still love having actual catalogs to touch and hold, but the paper waste I don’t love so much, so I’m working on adjusting to using an app instead. I”m liking it more and more as I play around with it more. Takes some getting used to, given that I’m from the “days of yore” when we only had catalogs come in the mail! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my order was processed, shipped and at my front door! It is user-friendly and may very well cost us lots of money in shopping…but just think of all the cute stuff I can find!

This could be useful when you’re en route to the store and realize you don’t have the catalogue!
