My kids love listening to book s. In fact, they would let me read to them all day if I had the time. My 2 year old has taken to carrying books with him around the house, just hoping someone will read to him. Poor little guy. With a newborn in the house there isn’t always time for reading. This is where a recordable story books comes in handy. I had the chance to try out the new Good Night Sesame Street Record a Story Book. This new product was developed by Publications International, Ltd. in fall of 2010 and won a National Parenting Publications Gold Award, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award and is one of Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Products List. These great recordable books allow you to easily record your voice while reading each page of the book. The recording will play automatically when you turn the pages. My little guy loves to hear my voice while looking through his book. It works great during those times of the day when I am unable to sit down and read to him. This would also work great for those of us that have relatives who live out of town. A grandparent or relative could record a story and send it to the child. It’s a great way to keep in touch and makes a great gift for the holidays.
We found that these books were easy to use. The instructions were clear and simple and the stories engaging. You can rerecord your story an infinite number of times. The book has a nice plush cover and sturdy pages. My 2 year old took his book along with him on a cross country car trip this Thanksgiving and it kept his attention for at least an hour. He particularly enjoyed the soft music that plays at the beginning of every page. Publications International, Ltd offers these Record A Story Books in many original and classic stories as well as many featuring licensed characters. They even offer a dedication page at the beginning of the book to record a special message to the recipient. These books retail for $19.99 and can be found at major retailers including Amazon. These books would make a great holiday gift for anyone on your christmas list. “I was provided a sample of this product to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed are my own.”
