Jim Carrey’s back on the big screen, this time starring as the villainous Dr. Robotnik in a live action film antagonizing my generation’s favorite hedgehog, Sonic! Sonic is adored for his bright blue color, his sarcastic personality and his mischevious streak. Now we learn how Sonic got to Earth and his backstory before he played a starring role in so many SEGA video games the last few decades!  We’re excited to share the new trailer that just dropped- and can’t wait to see the film this fall!

I think my husband’s excited to see this with the kids. Of course, the Sonic on screen is a little bit more modern and much more savvy than when he was playing with friends in high school and middle school, but it’s still fun to pass on! AND, it’s a fun way to share a little of our childhood stuff with the kids.  We love family friendly movies we can all enjoy- a little bit of action, and a lot of laughs. Anything with Jim Carrey usually promises lots of laughs too, of course!

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
