STEM Gift Ideas
What makes a gift great?
In my opinion, it’s the thought that goes into it. Many people spend countless hours and dollars throughout the holiday season attempting to find the “perfect” gift. Something that will wow the recipient and leave them in awe. Often, however, that same awe inspiring gift is no longer being used months later and has lost it’s initial appeal.
It’s not just the thought, though. It’s also longevity. Especially with kids- is this a play for a day and forget it existed toy? One that sits on the shelf collecting dust? I like gifts that can be used over and over again. If they get kids thinking and using their minds? Even better. This post about STEM gift ideas is brought to you by our friends at Radio Shack. Opinions are my own. RadioShack has curated a selection of interactive toys and innovative products that are perfect for anyone on your list this season! With RadioShack, you’ll get affordable pricing, product quality and RadioShack expertise and customer service.
When you gift with thought, rather than just concentrating on the price; you find a gift that the person REALLY needs. I’ve found that the best gifts I’ve received haven’t been things that I’ve directly asked for, but instead things that my friends or family have chosen for me based on observation. Maybe an item I eyed a bit longer than the others during an outing, or something I mentioned in passing that would be very helpful to me. Maybe someone noticed that I always seem to be drawn to puzzles at gatherings.
This year, RadioShack is making it very easy to give “smart gifts”. Not only have they stocked their shelves with the seasons most innovative products… they’ve priced them at the lowest prices on the market! These gifts include a little something for everyone on your gift list regardless of age, gender, or technical inclination. Gifts like littleBits, Roominate, drones, wireless headphones, bluetooth speakers, and even robotics start kits! Lots of great STEM gift ideas to keep kids busy and occupied for many, many hours!
My family has been fortunate enough to try out some of these smart gift items a little early this year.
We received the Roominate Helicopter, which is a 3-in-1 play set. This awesome set allows your child to creative their very own helicopter, airplane, or submarine. The kit everything they need to transform their dream motor device into a reality. `Kids can practice wiring the spinning propeller to the motor, and really letting their imaginations roam! Lots of fun ways to use this toy and explore with it- which means you won’t find this forgotten in a corner of their room.
We also received the LittleBits Space Kit. This kit allows your children to build their very own space investigations! I’m all for toys that allow children to learn while they play. No engineering experience is necessary, as there is a handy booklet that includes step-by-step instructions to 10 projects like the ISS and Mars Rover! This set is also something that can be built as a team or solo. Lots of ways to interact with this set and get a lot of use- definitely not a one and done toy!
Find a RadioShack store near you (when I clicked to find one, I also saw a note for a $10 off any purchase coupon!) RadioShack offers Price Match Guarantee: Consumers can feel good about getting the best price from them without having to waste valuable time doing research and driving to different stores. They also offer Ship 4 Free: If a store location is out of stock and they have it elsewhere in inventory, RadioShack will ship for free directly to the consumer!
What’s the “smartest” gift you’ve ever received during the holidays?

These are wonderful educational gifts. Most gifts like this are boring for kids, but these look like a blast.
