In celebration of OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY coming to BluRay/DVD, I had to do something fun with my kids. We love to plan themed snacks and activities around animated movies -what better way to get excited for fun family movie time than making amazing snacks and doing some activities? We put together these cute and simple Snack Bags with just a few items we had on hand and filled them with Mr. Weenie’s Sweet Salty Puppy Chow and I am sharing directions for both here with you today! This puppy chow mix post is in partnership with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Purchase OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY on Amazon and Walmart.com
{Mr. Weenie’s} Sweet & Salty Puppy Chow Mix
Ingredients:
3 cups crispy cereal squares
5 Tbsp. peanut butter
1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
1/3 cup salty peanuts
Directions:
Melt peanut butter and chocolate on low heat, pour over cereal and peanuts.
Let cool and coat with powdered sugar.
Allow chocolate to set and now if you want to create these simple take along bags to go along with the scavenger hunt it is really simple and fun!
Here is what you will need for your snack bags
Brown paper bags
nature themed stamps
an inkpad
single hole punch
Provide your child with the supplies above and let them stamp all over the bag randomly or create a pattern. Fold over the top 4″ of bag and punch two holes through all the layers about 2″ apart. Thread a 10″ length of twine through the holes and tie it off once you have filled it with some yummy {Mr. Weenie’s} Sweet Salty Puppy Chow.
You can enjoy Mr. Weenie’s Sweet Salty Puppy Chow during an Open Season: Scared Silly Scavenger Hunt (found on their site) or while you watch the movie at home (or both!).
About OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY
In celebration of Open Season’s 10th Anniversary, Sony Pictures Animation presents an all-new animated movie, OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY, available on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD.
Elliot, Boog and all your favorite woodland creatures are back in a brand new, comedy adventure, OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY. When a case of mistaken identity leads both humans and animals to believe there is a monstrous werewolf on the prowl in Timberline National Forest, former hunter Shaw seizes on the opportunity to re-open open season. With Shaw on the loose and all the animals at risk, it’s now up to Boog, Elliot, and Mr. Weenie to face their fears, track down the elusive werewolf, and get open season closed permanently.
