How to Switch from Glasses to Contacts
Are you still wearing glasses, but want to switch over to contacts? It’s so easy, but most people are scared. Here is how easy it is, you might even laugh at the simplicity. Thanks to 1-800 CONTACTS for sponsoring today’s post about switching from glasses to contacts and inspiring me to finally take the plunge!
#1. Go to the eye doctor.
Most eye doctors offer two different exams for glasses and for contacts. Request a contact exam from the eye doctor and make sure you don’t lose your copy of your paper RX . Knowing these numbers will be important when you’re ready to order your contacts.
#2. Go home and download the 1-800 CONTACTS App
This app will rock your world in so many ways. You simply download it on your phone. From there, you can scan the barcode on your existing contacts (great for those who just want to order more contacts) or you can upload your paper RX. Do you see how simple this is? Ordering contacts used to be such a hassle. However, now that I have discovered 1-800 CONTACTS my life is super easy. I truly never knew anything could be this easy.
#3. Wait for your contacts to arrive
The awesome thing about 1-800 CONTACTS is that you get the contacts right at your door step. You don’t have to wait in line somewhere. It’s a nice, hassle-free way to enjoy wearing contacts again (or for the first time). Since 1-800 CONTACTS does things this way, they can keep the cost to you way down.
The contact lenses that you get at your door are the exact ones that your doctor prescribed. Except you didn’t have to jump through hoops to get them. Their goal is to make getting contacts super easy, not super hard. Get this: they are likely to have your prescription in stock, which means they can ship it to you even faster.

Great post for someone who wants to convert to contacts. I had contacts a long time ago. But then got RK (radial keratotomy it was pre lasix). But since I’m old my eyes have changed and I have to wear glasses again. 🙁

I had a ton of worries like that, but really, the contacts cover your fingertip so you don’t really touch them. I’ve worried about this for years!

Great post! I’ve been thinking of switching from glasses to contacts but I can’t stand touching my eyeballs, LOL. But I guess it’s one of those things you’ll get used to eventually!

I keep wondering if at some point I am going to have to wear my glasses all the time. Right now I just wear them when I am on the PC (they have special lenses) and then when I am reading. But I have noticed a change in my eyes lately. If I get to that point I will look in to contacts.

This is a great post. It can be difficult to switch from glasses to contacts. With glasses, you just clean the lenses, and you’re done. Contacts are FAR more involved.
