You guys know that sometimes I talk about things that aren't always- well, comfortable to discuss. Imperfection, illness…periods….and today, I'm going to add hair removal to that list. I know, I know. It's not fun, but there are few people in this world who don't have to contend with hair removal at some point in their lives. It's a pain…and actually, it can be a pain in both the literal and the figurative sense, right? Unwanted hair needs to GO AWAY.
I've tried plucking (and still do, with the brows). It isn't super painful, but let's face it- it takes time and it's not the most pleasant feeling in the world. I also tried one of those plug-in hair removal torturous devices in high school once. Exactly once. I think I lasted all of 17 seconds before my eyes filled up with tears to the point that I couldn't SEE what I was trying to do and decided that was enough for me.
As I got older, I was introduced to waxing. Painful, but lasted longer than plucking. Again, with the PAIN! Why must this be so painful? Oh — I did try hair removal creams a few times. That ended in a rashy breakout for me that didn't hurt…it just itched and itched and itched for days. Sigh. Pain, itching. It's all so FUN, right? Yay for hair!
There is. of course, the time honored tradition of shaving. Which is fine. I mean, sure. That doesn't hurt (most of the time) although it's a pain and has to be done more frequently than any other method. Annoying. Time consuming. Can be potentially dangerous if you are named Brett and live in CT and have three kids and write this blog, though….I have managed to give myself some pretty good “nicks' with razors that ended up with a lot of blood. Gross.
Now we're in 2012 and there's all this technology, see? So I'm hoping that the new products like the Remington i-Light Pro Hair Removal System can get rid of the unwanted hair and since it has LIGHT technology, might not hurt (quite so much). The bonus? It's ok to use at home. So you aren't going to have to take a shower, make sure you shave carefully ,and put on a cute outfit for the removal of the unwanted hair.
The i-LIGHT is a revolutionary light-based device that has been clinically-proven and FDA cleared for the removal of unwanted body hair at home. i-LIGHT Pro uses similar Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology that dermatologists use, providing you with professional-quality results in the privacy and comfort of your own home for a fraction of the cost and none of the hassle. Light-based hair removal technology has been used safely by medical professionals for over 15 years and numerous studies have demonstrated that long-lasting or permanent hair growth reduction is possible with proper use. Unlike most at-home hair removal methods, IPL doesn't cut, burn or pull out hair, but instead works below the skin's surface to disable active hairs and prevent new ones from growing.
• At-home professional hair removal for a fraction of the cost of in-office visits
• FDA cleared and clinically proven
• Proprietary ProPulse technology delivers results that last 6 months
• Faster treatment times with the quickest flash rate and no downtime for recharging
• Other features include: built-in skin tone sensor, skin contact sensors, five energy levels and corded operation
Why even consider paying thousands of dollars for in-office laser or IPL hair removal treatments when you can OWN the Remington i-LIGHT Pro for less than you’d likely pay for just one office visit? Set yourself free with the Remington i-LIGHT Pro
I'm thinking that with the 90-day moneyback guarantee, 2 year limited warranty, dermatologist recommended, FDA cleared and clinically proven “stuff,” that this might be something to add to my holiday wish list. For me. I hate unwanted hair. Almost as much as I hate removing it….

I’d love to have this! I definitely find a few more “strays” when I’m pregnant. This would be great to have so I could take care of them after baby arrives. Hopefully they’d go away and stay gone!

I too hate shaving and would welcome the opportunity to NEVER have to shave again!

You know what I would use this on…not every single hair because I shave 365/365 but on those weird random oddball ones that spring up in weird places. Those puppies GOT TO GO.
